Evacuation!!

Here's what it looked like today when we evacuated. Very scary. We had no idea the fire was as close as it was until we turned out of our driveway. At this point we had not had any evacuation requests from officials. It seemed like nobody expected it to get like this so quick.

We were blessed to have a premonition that this would threaten us. At the first reports of a fire a few miles away, we started to load our car with the necessary items. Within an hour we were ready to roll without a minute to spare. Thank God with us that we were all safe and sound.

At this writing, we still aren't sure our house is safe. We've seen it on tv but aren't sure it's out of the path.

By the way, you should have seen how great our kids and the cousins performed under this scary pressure. We were a tight knit team when we left the house.

God is good.

My heart is so full of gratefulness this morning--for your safety and that of your dear family, and for God's sovereignty. He did protect you yesterday and we seek His help again today for you and for all of those fearing the worst...thank you for who you are!

I can't explain the pure joy we felt driving up to your house last night. The closer we got the more excited we got. When we saw it standing there, untouched, it was amazing. God really worked a miracle. Jonathan was very happy that Daniel's toys were safe-lol

I cried hearing the fear in everyone's voices. We had a couple of close calls when I was a kid in Agoura, but NEVER like what you had to go through. I remember what it felt like wondering if my home would survive, very scary. That those scared girls thought to PRAY in such a panic filled situation is a BEAUTIFUL thing. I am so thankful that your home is safe.
